Talis Jewels was founded by George Tsikalakis, a self taught Artisan, Jeweler, and GIA Certified Gemologist. His pure passion partnered with his natural abilities have resulted in a style that is uniquely his own, a blending of the old with the new to produce highly detailed designs that not only capture the eye but delight it as well.
George’s Journey into Jewelry was unconventional to say the least, he was not born into the industry like most, nor had he ever given any thought to doing something artistic with his life. Instead George spent his late teens and early 20’s searching for something that would not only fill his world with purpose, but with passion as well. He searched for something he’d never want to retire from, something that he wouldn't regret doing for the rest of his life. So after years of fruitless classes in various subjects a few chance encounters helped shape the rest of George’s life. First he bumped into an automobile designer who opened his eyes to the idea of doing something creative with his life, and second, he was lucky enough to take an art class where the professor commented that his designs would look quite nice as jewelry.
The final piece of the puzzle came when George signed up for a basic metal smithing class at a local craft center, it was there that he picked up a jewelers saw for the first time and realized that he'd found what he had been searching for. From that moment on George has spent nearly every waking moment focused on reaching his full potential as an artist, and as a craftsman. Having already spent tens of thousands of hours learning and mastering the various tools of his trade George admits that he is still learning and improving upon his skills with each passing day. He is most proud of the fact that he can not only design all of his pieces but that he can make them all as well, thus making all of his jewelry purely, and truly his own.
